Requirements

Platform Requirements​

The Aila SDK framework requires iOS or iPadOS 16.0 or later.

Device & Architecture Support​

  • Physical devices: iPad (9th generation, 10.2") or newer, iPhone 12 or newer, and iPhone SE (2nd generation) or newer
  • iOS Simulator: The framework includes x86_64 and arm64 slices so your app will build for the Simulator. However, because the Simulator has no camera access, SDK calls will not work and scanning will not occur.

Permissions​

Because the Aila SDK is camera-based, your app must declare camera permissions in its Info.plist, and the end user must grant access.

Fleets that still include Lightning-based devices use legacy SDK builds. These builds must also declare microphone permissions, which the SDK uses to communicate with Aila Kiosks over the headphone jack.

If the end user does not grant these permissions, or if MDM restrictions block them, the SDK will be unable to scan barcodes or communicate with any attached Aila hardware.

Framework Files​

The Aila SDK includes two frameworks, Aila.framework and AilaDecoder.framework. You'll need to add both to your project.
